New gadgets

spyed's recent purchase of a new camera reignited my fascination with photography, so I got a Canon Digital Rebel XSi digital SLR on Thursday. In 2 days I've taken 650 pictures (2.5 GB at 12 megapixels, not counting any of the RAWs... ouch). I am so addicted to this thing, I've already started ordering more lenses and looking into filters, and I'm sure I'm annoying the crap out of everyone in the office. Look forward to my obsession with various things (currently depth of field), but I'm having fun so whatever.

I also got a Kindle a few months ago and it has gotten me reading again. Life of Pi really was great, and I've been reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series again, so good.

Tonight I walked down Hollywood Blvd taking some photos with spyed and makepictures (who was the only one not taking photos, ironically), but he got the best photo of the night. Then watched Community with margotdent, Heidi and mhalpert, really funny, one of the best new shows of the season so far.

Also, I like turtles.

Update: Sold the XSi to trowlandson two weeks ago and picked up a T1i. I need help.

ZOMG Contest Time!

ZOMG contest time! My group, for fellow TV devotees, hangintherebaby, wants YOU to design our avatar and/or group page CSS. As you can see, the page is looking a bit sad and plain, so we need your help in zazzing it up. If we choose one of your designs, you'll get your hands on a fee premium membership, stickers, and possibly some other cool stuff.

The avatar and CSS should be either television or "hang in there, baby!" themed. If you are unfamiliar with the hang in there baby phenomenon, a simple google image search should enlighten you.
